How does the OvGU handle paragraph 2 of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (Act on Temporary Scientific Contracts) when extending fixed-term employment contracts due to the care of one's own children?
This is an "optional provision" from the law. The Human Resources Department examines each individual case and agrees to an extension of fixed-term contracts due to the care of children in most cases. Accordingly, an extension of the employment contract can take place by 2 years per child.
