FEM POWER
With the ESF-funded state program FEM POWER, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has set itself the goal of initiating measures to improve the participation of women at all levels and in all areas of the university and thus to actively participate in the implementation of the state program for a gender-equal Saxony-Anhalt.
Within the framework of the FEM POWER project, gender equality work at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is to be supported and further anchored structurally through various coordinated yet stand-alone measures. Another focus is the promotion of the integration of gender research in teaching and research.
MINT-Recruitment
Objective:
Increase the proportion of women at all levels of the STEM field at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg by developing, realizing and implementing an overall concept for raising awareness and STEM recruitment in close cooperation with the existing structural units and faculties.
The qualitative further development of this part of the project is ensured by the cooperation within the FEM POWER network. This state-wide cooperation ensures appropriate networking, training and support of the actors* involved in STEM recruitment at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg with the other universities in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Target group:
The groups of people to be directly addressed and benefiting from this STEM recruitment are, on the one hand, female students, doctoral candidates and employees as well as applicants for professorships from the entire STEM field.
On the other hand, the following faculties of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in particular will benefit from the conceptual support and supervision of STEM recruitment:

- Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
- Faculty of Computer Science
- Faculty of Mathematics
- Faculty of Natural Sciences
Post doc initiative
Support for junior professorships:
When a junior professor with tenure-track option is appointed, the endowment of the junior professorship is supported by the funding of a doctoral student position (E13 50%). It is planned to create such additional equipment for three junior professorships.
Post-doc bridge funding:
Bridging funding will be established to facilitate the transition from the doctoral to the post-doctoral phase. Female scientists with a doctorate from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg are to be encouraged to plan and prepare their habilitation or their own research project. The funding of the projects shall have the character of start-up financing and includes personnel funds of up to 75% E13 for a duration of up to nine months.

MaGeCa - Magdeburg Gender Campus
Under the label Magdeburger Gendercampus, activities and events of the University of Magdeburg are organized, networked and made visible, which deal with the topics of gender, gender research and equal opportunities. Thus, the label is part of the cross-university platform gendercampus@Sachsen-Anhalt, which is a joint result of the cooperation within the state-wide project FEM POWER.
